Annual Member Celebration
The Chamber hosts an Annual Celebration in February filled with entertainment, awards, and networking to recognize Chamber members and volunteers for all that they have done to help the Chamber grow. The incoming Board President will recognize the outgoing, and will present the Chamber accomplishments from the past year and a look forward into the upcoming year.
The Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce also honors a very important part of membership during the Annual Member Celebration, small business owners and advocates. Applications are accepted year-round for the annual Small Business Awards. The Small Business Growth and Development Committee determine the winners of the four awards.
2007 Small Business Award Winners
The Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce celebrated their Annual Member Celebration at the Hyatt Minneapolis, on February 4, 2008. Three Twin Cities companies received Small Business Awards from the Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce. Ben Skjold, of Skjold Barthel, 2008 chair for the Small Business Growth & Development Committee, presented the awards.
The Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce presented the Awards as a way of recognizing the small businesses from the Twin Cities and honoring them in what they do for the community.
Three awards were presented:
The Innovative Small Business Award
CityLites USA was awarded the Innovative Business award for their innovative advertising platform and wrap of the skyway system.
The Community Advocate Small Business Award
Stahl Construction was awarded the Community Advocate award for their dedication and commitment to volunteering and providing their employees paid day off to volunteer at non-profit organizations.
The Small Business of the Year Award
StarchTech, Inc. was awarded the Small Business of the Year award for their manufacturing and marketing of Biodegradable Loosefill Packaging product, which is made from renewable resources.
